Africa Foundation believes in investing in young people by creating opportunities for learning and growth. We do this with school going children through our Echo – Environmental Education programme where we provide game drives and in class lessons which cover a variety of topics. We also provide tertiary bursaries through our Community Leaders EduCation Fund (CLEF) for school leavers who want to further their development and growth.
The Community Leaders Education Fund (CLEF) provides bursaries along with psycho-social support to youth from six countries. To truly break the cycle of poverty in rural Africa, youth have to access tertiary level education to increase their employability.
Known simply as ECHO for the resonance it has across people’s lives, this Environmental Education Programme exposes communities – young and old – to the game reserves that neighbour them and the broader environmental and ecotourism topics.
